Trearddur Bay Beach and Underwater Clean Up
Saturday 18th May 2013
To all those enthused by the idea of protecting the environment, that want to give nature a helping hand or just want to have a good time with friends old and new; why not join our beach clean‐up event at Porth Dafarch on Saturday 18th May. Our last beach clean‐up at Trearddur bay registered a huge 74kg of waste collected!
There is ample accommodation in close proximity, including B&B, self‐catering cottages and camping for those looking for a rough and ready trip. Also diving services (including cylinder fills), car parks, two shops for those basic essentials and of course a handful of pubs for meals and a well‐earned drink.
On the Day
The clean‐up ‘base camp’ will be situated in Porth Dafarch, walking distance to one of Anglesey’s premier beaches; Trearddur bay. We will meet at Porth Dafarch, be briefed on the data capture and H&S for the day. Conduct the beach and underwater clean‐up while having time to enjoy a pleasant stroll on the beach, topped off by a BBQ and refreshments.
Those planning to conduct the SCUBA underwater clean up will be split into groups, buddy up and take it in turns to do a clean‐up dive, with the opportunity to do a leisure dive for those that want to. All data collected will then be submitted to Project AWARE to aid research and protection actions.

Comments
I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the hard workers at Porth Dafarch this weekend.
I'm a sea kayaker and recently visited this beautiful beach during the Anglesea Sea Kayak symposium. After a fantastic day's paddling, I realised I had lost half of the paddle I had on the front of my kayak as a spare. I was so sad when I noticed.
Friends visiting the area spotted my missing paddle in the pile of rubbish you collected. You cannot believe how happy I am. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
