National Shark Release Day - Thailand

To help raise awareness on the threats facing global and local shark populations we will join with Dive Tribe, local businesses, and others to purchase and release sharks back into the sea. This will be coordinated with other releases being organized by groups in Phuket and Pattaya for the same day.

Friday, September 2, 2011 - 20:00 - Saturday, September 3, 2011 - 00:00We will need to raise the money to purchase the sharks from local restaurants, markets, and piers and also to transport the sharks to Koh Tao. The sharks will be held for a day or two for local community members to come see up close and learn about, then released at Shark Island.
