Running Half Marathon in Amsterdam to raise funds for Project Marine Debris

Amsterdam, Netherlands

On Sunday October 16th, 2011, the 36th edition of the Amsterdam Marathon will take place.  I will be participating by running the Half Marathon (sorry, the full one is still a bit too long for me). This year I will be running for Project Aware, and in particular for the Marine Debris project.

Project AWARE supports an unprecedented global movement of divers acting in their own communities to protect oceans and implement lasting change.  The focus is on two major ocean issues: Sharks in Peril and Marine Debris, or trash in our ocean. As Earth’s growing population consumes more disposable goods, the items we discard, even thousands of miles inland, are choking our ocean planet.

Please help me raise as much money as possible to donate to this project so we can all help in keeping our planet and our oceans a cleaner place!
