March 31, 2012 …Participate and Learn with the Palm Beach Zoo's Florida Hawksbill Project.
Spend the day learning and diving with Nikole Ordway and Larry Wood as he captures and studies the Florida Hawksbill Turtle. Learn what the Hawksbill contributes to our knowledge about the ecosystem of our local reefs. Understand where they come from and where they are going and how far they range.
Join us at the Riviera Beach Force-E 155 East Blue Heron Blvd. at 10:00 AM. We’ll break for lunch about noon and be at the boat in the Lake Park Marina by 1:00 PM for a two-tank dive with Larry Wood for some practical experience.
Call now to make reservations. 561-845-2333 Direct or 866-845-2333 Toll Free. Replies to My Ocean are NOT a reservation to this event, you must call the store to book your spot.
The cost of the event is $120 and the proceeds will be donated to the Florida Hawksbill Project. The price includes Turtle Awareness class session, boat trip, 2 tanks either air or nitrox, weights, and snacks on the boat.
This two tank dive and academic program will allow participants to watch the Florida Hawksbill Project in action. We will have activities for each person underwater. If you have an underwater camera, make sure to bring it for some of the activities we have planned. No camera, no worries, bring an underwater dive slate for interactive activities. Nikole will be taking pics and vids and make them available to everyone at no cost.
