Wounded Nature Coastal CleanUp
A FUN AND EDUCATIONAL TRASH TREASURE HUNT
On Saturday August 24th, 2013 Hanckel Marine and Wounded Nature will be staging a coastal cleanup from 12-4 with an appreciation party immediately following from 4-8 pm. The party will be family friendly and include free food, beverages, entertainment, educational displays, and inflatable jumps. Admission to the party is one bag of beach trash per boat or car or a donation to Wounded Nature. PRIZES will be given for the following: -Most unique piece of trash found -Boat bring in the most trash -Most beverage bottles and cans -Coolest shoe or pair of sunglasses found -Longest piece of rope or wire found Everyone attending will be eligible to win some spectacular DOOR PRIZES. The party will take place at Island House on John’s Island.
Boats are needed to clean the following areas. If you are a boat owner willing to participate in cleaning up one of these areas, please send us an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) and tell us which area you want to clean and what your boat’s name is. The first 25 boats signing up to participate will receive free T-shirts and decals.
- Drum Island under the Ravenel Bridge (East End – towards the harbor)
- Morris Island (North Half of the beach – the end nearest to the harbor)
- Sandy Point
- North Edisto River Mouth
