Climate change has a devastating impact on marine environments. Project AWARE urges you to minimise your ecological fin print and make a positive difference for the marine world.

Project AWARE's Our Blue World eNewsletter dives into 73,400 inboxes six times a year - meaning that marine conservation matters to thousands of people. Imagine the possibilities if all 73,400 recipients - along with their families and friends - made a few simple changes.

What can we do? There are numerous ways to reduce your ecological footprint print and offset carbon emissions. Start with the Project AWARE checklist and get started:

1. Planning your next dive trip? Support sustainable travel and choose Go ECO Operators
2. Concerned about the environment? Protect the Living Reef and get involved with coral reef monitoring
3. Choose sustainable seafood, use organic produce and buy locally. You can also use lids when cooking to save energy.
4. Going on holiday? Don’t leave electrical equipment on standby. Choose energy saving appliances when possible and switch off lights and electric appliances when they aren't needed.
5. Just got home from a dive trip? Line dry your clothes rather than using a dryer.
6. Teach children about ecology and sustainability at AWARE Kids
7. Walk or cycle when travelling short distances.
8. Talk to your friends and family about climate change issues.
9. Offset air travel by planting trees.
10. Reduce, reuse, recycle and encourage others to do the same.
