Moonsoon is here, so huge amounts of plastics and marine debris are washing up on the beaches every day. This clean up is a combination effort of several dive & tourism businesses on Lembongan island with the help of tourist & local volunteers.

We are hosting a Dive for Debris clean up of the Ocean College House Reef at the Hilton Fayrouz Hotel, Naama Bay... guests will be diving the shallow reef here collecting as much litter as possible and comparing it to our World Clean up Dive last year.

On every dive we will collect rubbish this month, as we always do. But this month being the Project Aware Dive Against Debris month, we hope to find even more volunteers showing their love for a clean ocean. We will also organise beach clean ups and rubbish collections in areas of our village where wind can easily "feed" the sea, in particular with plastic bags and bottles. Every Friday we will have a special offer on 3rd dives. Please check for updates. We look forward to seeing you :)

Aug. 28/11: Sub-Mission Dive for Debris & Beach Clean up

Our first Dive for Debris and Beach Clean Up for 2011 is taking place on Sunday 28thAugust at Trefor Pier in Wales. We will be conducting dives under the pier to collect rubbish and litter to not only clean up the area but also to collect the data. All volunteers will also be asked to help with a shore line clean up for the same purposes.

This weekend we want to make the children aware of the ocean.  There will be lectures and talks at the local schools, a movie will be shown on the beach plus a beach and under water clean up.
