On every dive we will collect rubbish this month, as we always do. But this month being the Project Aware Dive Against Debris month, we hope to find even more volunteers showing their love for a clean ocean. We will also organise beach clean ups and rubbish collections in areas of our village where wind can easily "feed" the sea, in particular with plastic bags and bottles. Every Friday we will have a special offer on 3rd dives. Please check for updates. We look forward to seeing you :)
Calling all dive geeks and ocean warriors: the ocean needs you (and your underwater data).
Since the first Project AWARE International Cleanup Day events in 1993, AWARE divers organized thousands of cleanups to protect underwater habitats and marine species. Cleanup dives from the past 18 years have been a true inspiration, placing scuba divers in the spotlight, key to addressing debris issues on a global scale.
From the smallest bits of plastic, car batteries and appliances, to enormous fishing nets, “stuff” from our daily lives makes its way to the ocean by the ton every day. As Earth’s growing population consumes more disposable goods, the items we discard, even thousands of miles inland, are choking our ocean planet. Join us in the battle against marine debris and Dive Against Debris. Your local actions contribute to a clean, healthy future for the ocean.
