When most people think of sharks, they think of the film Jaws and scary stories. Fear of sharks comes mainly from lack of knowledge and the inaccurate man-eating image perpetuated by mass media over the years. Through the power of images, divers can tell the real story and raise awareness about the plight of sharks.
In the morning the school children who are part of the Atlantis Dive Centre dive program will take part in our third Dive Against Debris for the year. Doing two dives, cleaning one of our regular dive sites which is a wreck lying in 10 - 12 metres.
In the afternoon all the divers will take part in the AWARE Shark Conservation Distinctive Speciality Course.
Then early evening we are visiting the fish market to see the fish being brought to market. Recording the sharks that we see in the market.
