Joe's Gone Diving will donate US$15 of every Nitrox course to Project Aware. And for those who are already certified, donate 50% of the rental fee of every nitrox tank. Offer is valid in December 2011 only and of course only applies if you are diving with Joe's Gone Diving...

Waxing hair and auctioning staff? Well it is for charity!

Blue Season Bali (BSB) has long supported Project AWARE. From implementing beach cleanups to running AWARE Specialty courses, the team has never hesitated when it comes to doing their bit for the environment.

But recently the BSB gang have upped the ante and in 2012 they will launch their new Eco Internship program and take eco diving to a whole new level.

Bali Crystal Diver's are hosting a special Dinner for Diver's event where we will be celebrating collecting over 1000 signatures for Project Aware's Give Sharks a Fighting Chance campaign!

We will be offering a 50% discount on Dinner for all Divers who arrive with their Certification Cards between 6pm and 8pm; we will also be collecting donations for Project Aware  Shark conservation on the night!

The highlight of the day's activities will be the auctioning off of waxing strips to depilate our good friend Thomas McKenzie.

The ECODIVER course, upon completion will allow divers to join surveys and survey teams around the globe and submit data to their Team scientists. It will open your eyes to the underwater world and you will see it in a whole different light. You will learn just HOW MUCH you are missing when you dive.

Please follow the link to help me raise funds for such a great cause. As divers we know how bad it can be when you come across broken bottles, entangled aquatic life, plastic bags etc. There are millions of divers around the world who know what I'm saying. All I'm asking for is $1AUS from each person and I would have smashed my part of the fundraising.

And the Weirdest Marine Debris Photo Is...

We kicked off September's Debris Month of Action with a photo contest - calling for your weirdest, strangest and craziest marine debris photos. And boy did we get them! 

One month, 159 entries, 8 finalists and over 1000 votes later, we're pleased to announce the following winners:

1st Place: "Underwater Recycling" by Christian Skauge, from Norway.

Runners Up: "Easy Rider" by Frances Whitfield, from Australia and "Two of my Favorite Things: Handbags and Nudibranchs" by Twila Midgley from the UK.

We reached a massive milestone during April’s Big Shark Shout Out and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Hundreds of supporters shouted for sharks and took AWARE's shark petition to the streets helping reach an impressive total of 100,000 signatures. These signatures give a stronger, united voice to push for trade protection for the world's most vulnerable shark species.
