Ocean Divers and Hidden Depths dive centres are conducting a beach cleanup on the southern portion of Long Beach. We are beginning from Thai House Beach Resort and will work our way up the beach collecting all recyclables and removing all rubbish from the beach.

So far, more than 1,500 people have set up My Ocean profiles on ProjectAWARE.org. When we first launched the new website, we kept our eyes peeled for 10 of the most complete and inspiring profiles to feature on our blog. The ten profiles listed below have shown us that underwater conservation is a big part of their diving experience. With many people visiting the island which only covers an area of about 21 square kilometers, local dive centers are running eco friendly programs to help relief some of the environmental stress and pressure that ever increasing tourism put on Koh Tao's natural resources.

Reef surveys continue at Racha Yai Island

The international School in Shanghai, China joined Scuba Cat again this June to continue their 5 year study of the reefs on Racha Yai Island.

With their co-ordinator Terry and team of instructors, 10 students from the school came to Thailand and boarded MV Scuba Cat for 9 days of intensive training and surveying.
