Last Sunday, to kick off Debris Month of Action, PADI and Project AWARE staff from the Bristol office in the UK organized a Dive Against Debris event in collaboration with West Country Divers in Swanage.
Join us Oct. 1, 2011 for our 20th Annual Underwater and beach cleanup sponsored by Divers Two. We are continuing our tradition of keeping our underwater environment clean for everyone to enjoy. We need both surface and underwater help!
The Scuba Sports Club will be at Davenport Park in New Rochelle, New York performing a beach cleanup on September 17, 2011, International Beach Cleanup Day. The beach cleanup is sponsored by Project Aware's "Dive Against Debris" ocean conservation project.
It's our regular one-day dive trip combined with Coral Watch and underwater cleanup activities.
We will be specifically conducting observation on the development of crown of thornes around the Karang Lebar area of Pulau Semak Daun. If the presence of COTs increased significantly, we will remove them to avoid further expansion and threat of coral bleaching.
As usual, we will collect underwater debris in every dive. Let's make our underwater planet cleaner and join the Aware Scavenger Hunt game :)
Come and help us to take trash out from the Sea bottom, and help us to improve our world, bring your family and friends, everybody is welcome, even if you don't dive!!! You'll feel great after donating your time to this cause...:)
