Despite its vastness, human activities are impacting fragile underwater environments in the most remote areas. Thousands of divers and water enthusiasts focus attention on aquatic conservation for this annual event each April, taking action in cleanups, coral monitoring and AWARE Kids activities.

Sustainable Fisheries

70 per cent of global fish stocks are now depleted, overfished or on the brink of collapse.  Project AWARE challenges you to do more by making sustainable seafood choices, supporting Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), calling for improved fisheries management and campaigning for responsible fishing practices.

Mooring Buoys

Mooring buoys reduce anchor damage that destroys delicate underwater ecosystems.  Project AWARE funds mooring buoy projects around the world to prevent these harmful effects and help coastal communities protect reefs for future generations.
