SeaCare enjoyed a wonderful day participating in Dive Against Debris! 13 scuba dive volunteers joined forces to remove, record and report TONS of debris from our local waterways in Los Angeles County, California, USA. We're looking forward to our next chance to make a difference for our ocean planet!
Come and join Dive Friends Bonaire for our world famous quarterly underwater clean-up that started over 10 years ago. On Saturday, January 23, 2016 we will clean up Kerel's Pier site and hope to have the biggest turnout of volunteer divers! We will also have additional on-land support teams of the Dive Friends Bonaire crew to help divers in and out of the water and our non-diving team to sort and count the garbage collected!
Help us clean up the fishing line and lures from the Mullet Hole off of State Park Rd in Crystal River, FL. If the manatees ingest this line while foraging for various grasses, it can hurt or even kill them. It's manatee season and they'll be seeking shelter back in the warmer waters near the springs!
The Debris dive was scheduled to take place tomorrow, Sunday 24th January but due to extreme weather conditions we have to postpone it. The postponement is only for the coming days and we will be looking to complete the dives during the week or by next weekend. So for those who were unable to attend this weekend you now have a new opportunity to get involved. Contact me if you are interested and wish to sign up! firstname.lastname@example.org
