I am currently a graduate student in marine ecology at Old Dominion University. My research focuses on manipulating the population structure and local abundances of reef-dwelling herbivores with the goal of showing that with a bit of a boost in herbivory by native, naturally occuring species, we can potentially mediate the effects of the dominant phase shift from coral cover to algal dominance on Caribbean coral reefs in the Florida Keys. I'm very interested in marine conservation and ecology. I'm an avid diver, and I do quite a bit for my job and research, but I'm always up for blowing bubbles for fun too (all work and no play makes diving less rewarding).
