User Profile
Bluereefdivers has started a scuba project at the Jakaranda and Louis Botha Children’s Homes, which are independent, unaffiliated welfare organisations that provide a caring home environment and therapeutic services to traumatised children. This is a community-based project that is managed by a board of directors comprising members from the community.
After a child has been placed in their care, it is their vision and responsibility to care, clothe, feed, protect and to develop the child to his/her full potential. They strive to dismiss the developmental hindrances that our children have experienced and introduce them to a wide range of opportunities, develop their skills, and aid them in reaching their full potential. This will enable the children to act as responsible adults when they leave the Home.
The scuba project - called - Dive for life is one of the Jakaranda Children’s Home’s initiatives to assist them in obtaining these objectives. Not only is this a means for companies and individuals to help secure the futures of disadvantaged children, but also fulfils a valuable role in aquatic conservation.
Thus we've also started a Artificial Reef Project which we will monitor and update regularly.
