Koh Tao is a busy island with more and more boats gracing its shores every year. Installing and maintaining mooring lines for these vessels is one of the most important reef conservation projects. In places like Koh Tao with so many boats visiting the island for snorkelling and diving, mooring lines protect precious reef environments preventing boats from dropping anchors to park.

A beautiful day greeted the Eco Koh Tao team for their final day of the latest Ecodiver extravaganza as they took their slates and reels and headed for Ao Leuk Bay in Koh Tao’s South-East.

Waiting at the pier for some friends to arrive on Koh Tao last week, I noticed an overwhelming amount of garbage under and around the beach where most visitors arrive and depart from our little island. It doesn’t seem right that the first thing they experience is the filth of the main pier so we decided to start our monthly clean up there.
