We're a PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center on the island of Bonaire - "Diver's Paradise!" We work hard to keep it that way by organizing quarterly clean-up dives at various sites around the island. With 8 locations around the island, you won't have to travel far to pick up or drop off tanks, get advice about good shore dive sites, sign up for dive training, shop for cool new gear or just kick back with a cold drink and meet some new dive buddies. We work with various accommodation partners around the island to give you the freedom to stay where you want and dive where you want. What Jamie won't do for sharks....

At Dive Friends Bonaire @ Dive Inn, a few of our instructors made a bet. Jamie Hakvoort was enthusiastically collecting signatures for the shark petition. He bet that Alex van der Kroft and Tim Smith wouldn't collect any signatures during his days off....they bet that they could collect at least 4 pages. The loser would go up the coconut palm to clear off a few coconuts.

The divers at Dive Inn were more than happy to protect sharks (and send Jamie up the tree), and so 9 pages of signatures were collected.

Dive Friends Bonaire Organizes First Quarterly Clean Up Dive of the Year at Karel’s Pier

On Saturday, January 19, 2013, Dive Friends Bonaire @ Yellow Submarine filled up with enthusiastic volunteers ready for the first quarterly clean-up dive of the new year. The crowd primarily consisted of vacationing divers but there were also a large number of local residents, including a group of Junior Rangers from the Bonaire Marine Park. All of the participants collected their free tanks from the dive center and then assembled for the safety briefing.

Debris Free Bonaire: A New Environmental Clean Up Project Targeting Bonaire’s East Coast Plastic

On December 14th, 2012, Dive Friends Bonaire launched Debris Free Bonaire, a new environmental program. Designed to encourage visitors to Bonaire to volunteer a small amount of their vacation time to collect plastic marine debris from Bonaire’s east coast, Debris Free Bonaire empowers volunteers by providing a visual demonstration of the amount of debris collectively removed from the environment. It also rewards their efforts by giving them the opportunity to win exciting raffle prizes.

Another Massive Turn Out for Dive Friends Bonaire Quarterly Clean Up Dive at South Pier

On Saturday, July 21, 2012, a veritable army of volunteers gathered at Dive Friends Bonaire at Dive Inn to clean up underneath Bonaire’s South Pier. Even though the weather was a bit rainy, the Dive Inn was filled to capacity with local and visiting volunteer divers overflowing out into the parking area.

Dive Friends Bonaire Issues PADI Certification to their 10,000th Student Diver

Dive Friends Bonaire, a PADI Five Star Instructor Development Center, has issued their 10,000th PADI certification. The lucky student diver completed a continuing education program that is unique to Dive Friends Bonaire – the PADI Shore Diver Distinctive Specialty.
