This was my first time running this event. And, with the help of Debby and Discovery Diving Center, I believe we had a great underwater cleanup event! The trash that was weighed in totalled 40.6lbs and there were individuals who threw away their trash prior to the weigh station opening.

I look forward to hosting this event again next year. I have a lot of fun cleaning up this Rock Jetty. There is so much debris down there. It's amazing the amount of trash found down below and to think, the 40.6lbs that we collected is just a small fragment of what is to be found in our our waters!

Next time you are on a dive and you (remotely think that you) have become bored, look for trash! It DOES NOT belong there!!! Bring it up with you and dispose of it properly!
