I'm a certified PADI diver since 1998. I became OWSI in 2002 and I'm now Master Instructor since 2005. Most of my dive experience is in cold water and I'm always amazed at how much trash we discover in the dive sites where I train my students. Being part of the Action Scuba family since 2008, I've been involved in Project AWARE by leading annual beach cleanups. This year, as we became a 100% AWARE shop, I had the idea to use dive 4 of the PADI Search & Recovery dive to have my students clean the training site in order to achieve their performance requirements. The students had much fun doing this activity so it's a keeper! I'm also a technical diver and an history teacher in college. As a military historian, I have a big interest in wreck diving.
