Bio

I am a PADI IDC Staff instructor. I have been diving since I was 14 & I became an Instructor when I was 19. I enjoy diving just about everywhere but I really love the Pacific Ocean on the West coast of the U. S. Anywhere from Seattle down to the Channel Islands. I love diving in the Kelp. I concider myself an Underwater Naturalist and it is my passion, desire an obligation to help other diver coexist with the underwater world in a Positive and benifical way. I enjoy accomplishing this goal through education and experiences.

Monterey AMAZING

I just spent a few days in Monterey, Ca diving. How truely AMAZING it is there. There is so much life to have positive aquatic interactions with. So many people there are really focused on improving the underwater world and educating others. Its great to be in the middle of that. My dive buddy Kevin Ritz and I were privileged enough to see little octopus feeding on our night dive. We were also givin a underwater tour on our night dive by a very friendly harbour seal. This fun little guy stayed with us the whole 45 minute dive and pointed out lots of features like what he like to eat. MORE

FOOD for thought

I recently visited Monterey, Ca. I had the pleasure of dinning at an exceptional restaurant that not only has great service, but also they are enviroment leaders in the area. Domenico's & Cafe Fina have lead the way in the Monterey area for many years even before being "ecofreindly" was the trend. A few ways they are being proactive for the aquatic enviromnent are by: 1) being an active part of the seafood watch program sponsered by the Monterey Bay Aquarium. 2) using metal cups for their free clam chowder soup samples instead of plastic cups. HELP!!!!!!! Im being attacked by a fisherman

We often think of Shark attacks from the point of view of the Shark being the attacker. As active divers we are very well aware of the fact that it is the other way around. As the PADI Instructor creed points out WE can: Open hearts and minds to the hidden beauty of Natures creation and OUR OBLIGATION TO PROTECT IT. 1 quick and easy way to start is signing the Shark petition and getting others to do so as well. You dont have to be a Marine Biologist to understand that shark finning is a cruel and wasteful practice.

Aquarium Diving

There is Nothing like interacting with the creatures out in the wild. There is a thrill that we are all hooked on for sure. But I like to also suggest for anyone who maybe has never really interacted or maybe has never seen anything like a shark or a morrey eel, to concider an Aquarium dive. I recently did a dive with the folks at A-1 SCUBA in the Denver Aquarium. It was a blast. The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made the experience comfortable and easy. All the aquatic life was amazing. And the interaction with the kids and people looking in was out of this world.
