I work full time as a secretary in Belgium, but my passion lies elsewhere. I fell head over heels in love with the ocean 15 years ago while snorkeling for the very first time on holiday. So as soon as I got home, I got my open water certificate and explored that new world as often as I could. But quite quickly, I realised how delicate that underwater paradise is, how interconnected. I could not stand by and do nothing, so over the years I have become more and more involved in Ocean and more specifically Shark conservation. Very active both on- and offline, working voluntarily for several NGO's and as a board member of the Belgian NGO Sea First Foundation, this activism started as a hobby, developed to a passion and now feels like a simple necessity, with the responsibility to do whatever I can to assist in saving our cradle of life.
