New Advanced Open Water Divers

Ocean Quest just recently completed another Advanced Open Water course. The students learned all the important skills needed in order to safely Deep dive, the skills in order to navigate properly. We also practiced the skills to safely Night dive and to dive on wrecks.

Underwater Naturalist for Earth Day

Ocean Quest conducted an Underwater Naturalist course in conjunction with the Reef Dot Org, trying to bring awareness to the importance of our Ocean's and how much we need to help protect it.

New Enriched Air Divers and Project Aware Supporters

Ocean Quest completed another Enriched Air course with three students. Steven, Tavis and Mike successfully completed their training tonight. Well done. To show their support all three students decided to donate to the Project Aware Foundation!!

Master Scuba Diver Lisa donates to Project Aware!

Congratulations to Lisa, for her suscessful completion of her Master Scuba Diver certification. Lisa decided again to donate to Project Aware once again, as she did that on her Enriched Air Course as well as her Deep.

Lisa is so much into diving she just recently signed up for her Dive Master course, and I am hoping to see her on her IDC for May. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Rescue Diver Wins so does Project Aware

Roland, has decided to donate $50 to Project Aware so he can proudly display his Project Aware Rescue Card. Roland had been diving with Ocean Quest since July of 2012, and he has tackled the Open Water, Advanced and Rescue course. Roland is becoming a well rounded diver and now has taken that step to help protect the environment, specificly the ocean that he obviously loves so much!!

Well done Roland! Keep up the great work!

Three New Dive Masters.....

Thress new Dive masters, Renne, Anastasia, and Jason have successfully completed their Dive Master course and all three have donated to the Project Aware Program! Well done guys.

Everyone certainly did their part, they not only worked hard for their training, but they realized the only way to keep the dive sites clean and in great shape for the divers al the divers, we need to be the ones.

Thank you for the great work everyone, and thank you to Project Aware!!

Shark Conservation Dicussion

There were some somber faces in the shop on Thursday night after Lee Newman from the Vancouver Aquarium completed his discussion concerning the how much damage and in peril sharks are in the World. I must admit there were a lot of shock people after listening to what Lee had to talk about.

We had a great turn out with at least 40 divers. I have to admit I have started to follow this situation closely, and I know the numbers of killed sharks in mind numbing almost to the point of not being abel to actually wrap my head around how rough things have become.

Shark Conservation for Divers - The Species the Issues

Lee Newman is the Curator of Tropical Waters at Vancouver Aquarium as well as one of British Columbia's most active divers and underwater photographers. Lee will discuss important Shark Conservation Conservation issues that effect divers both on local and international scale. More Donations to Project Aware

A big congratulations to Amy M. for completing her Sidemount Dive course! She sure did put her heart and soul into her training. We had classroom and pool last week, with a 3 hour classroom session, 2 1/2 hours in the pool and then three training dives today.
