I graduated from Portsmouth University with a Marine Biology Bsc (Hons), shortly after I started a Animal Physiology Ph. D (awaiting viva) at the University of Bristol.
I am a qualified PADI Rescue diver (2006). I originally completed my PADI open water (Nov 2004) in Halsea Portsmouth, in a 6 mm wetsuit it was freezing! Shortly after I jetted off to the Maldives and didn't return to UK diving again until 2009. Now I frequently venture down to Swanage or Torquay. Porthkerris was also a great dive. Last year I spent four days on Lundy Island diving with the seals, I also came across a mermaids purse attached to some red coral which was pretty special. I have yet to see a Baskin shark!
I recently attended the Swanage pier clean up and collected a few plastic bags from the sea floor...great turn out.
I am currently a member of West country divers (PADI), based in Bristol, who regularly venture out to Torquay.

Swanage pier dive against debris-pier clean up
Arrived at pier, having over slept, at 2pm, but still managed to get a car parking space, kitted up, and was in the water by 2.30pm! Found a couple of large screws and plastic bags.
Cheese burger and chips for lunch then back in the water for a chilly second dive....
