Diving in Kenya
The East African Coast is one of the top dive destinations worldwide. We have the full range of marine life of the Indian Ocean. The main “Shanzu Reef” is in an area protected by Kenya Wild Life Service. The corals are in a wonderful shape.
What to See
Along the Mombasa North Coast dives we have plenty of colourful soft and hard corals. The Marine Park has a huge variety of marine life such as: White Tip Reef Sharks, Green Turtles, Hawksbill Turtles, Moray Eels, Sting Rays, Groupers, Schools of Snappers, Napoleons, Octopus, Lobsters, Barracudas among many others and a wide range of macro stuff.
The Dive Centres
Peponi Divers Mombasa are certified PADI resort (32328) and BSAC Resort (550). We are based at Mombasa North Coast at the Bahari Beach Hotel. We also have a branch at Royal Reserve Beach Club (Kikambala). We provide free pick up from other hotels within Mombasa North Coast.
Diving with Peponi Divers
We dive at 25 different dive sites with its No. 1 “VUMA Caves”. We also provide deep diving at “The Wall” and wreck diving at “MS Globe Star”. Most of the dive sites are within the marine park and are easy to dive. Depth ranges between 7 meters and 25 meters.
On our 2 tank dives, we provide refreshments like fruits as well as drinking water free of charge.
Diving Courses
Take a free try out in the pool. Introduction course Peponi Fun Diver. We teach all PADI courses including several specialities in English and German..
The Boats
Our 2 diving boats are fully equipped with all safety devices as at PADI and BSAC standard. Each of the boats can carry up to 12 divers. Both of the boats have a canvas roof to protect the divers from sunburns.
Safety
Our safety records are excellent. Our boats are equipped with all safety devices such as with first aid kits, oxygen, and fire extinguisher at PADI and BSAC standards. For communication we have radios and mobile phones on each boat.
In case of decompression, we have a re-compression chamber standby at the Mombasa harbour (about 45 to 90 minutes from our dive sites) and its operated by the Kenya navy.
Other Activities
The attached water sports centre provides the following services. Snorkelling with the glass bottom boat, wind surfing, sailing and canoeing.
