Projects Abroad is one of the leading international volunteer organisations. Since being founded in 1992, Projects Abroad has sent over 28,000 volunteers to over 26 different countries on 5 continents, currently at a rate of 5000 per year.

Put the fin back on the shark!

Regulations and politicians, petitions and European Commission, proposals and Fisheries ministers – all very important at the moment for the future of sharks in our oceans. But ever so important are also all the people around the world who’s fighting for the protection of sharks. By participating in the Projects Aware’s Big Shark Shout Out Week, by signing petitions and by raising awareness about the declining shark populations.

Ao Nang and Phi Phi Islands surveys

Pauline, Sophie and Lionel, Leilah, Marit, Julie, Didi, Zoe and Aisha dived against debris during last week and got four new surveys completed - despite stormy and rainy weather!

Fish released, coins found and six great dives logged

And the results are: 41,65 kg of rubbish removed in total, 39 masks and snorkels found, 1 fish trap removed, 26 glass bottles picked up and 1 car tire recovered with lifting bag.

Preparations for debris week

On Monday the 26th of September we'll be preparing ourselves for a week of debris surveys with an introduction to Dive Against Debris - why and how to collect debris data? Everyone's welcome to join us at the J-Guesthouse at 16.30!
