Project AWARE Kids - Sea Turtles

Sadly it was our last week with AWARE Kids at the Mana Island School, but the final chapter - Sea Turtles - was particularly special, thanks to a wee visitor.

Project AWARE Kids - Whales & Dolphins

Tadd was lucky enough to have some time off teaching and accompany Sami and Katie for AWARE kids the other week. They all had a great time teaching the kids all about whales and dolphins.

Project AWARE Kids - Kelp & Beach Clean Up

Our next AWARE kids class covered Kelp... a tricky one to explain to kids in Fiji, but the girls did a great job! We decided the best thing was to combine it with a beach clean up... so they reinforced the importance of the ocean ecosystem and our human affect on them - including our rubbish that ends up in the sea. The kids seemed to have a great time!

Project AWARE Kids - Shark Day

Katie (a volunteer at the school) and DM Sami had their hands full teaching the local kids at the Mana Island School about sharks and how important they are to the oceans around us.

We were unaware of the Save The Sharks petition, until Instructor Tadd was doing some research online to see what Project Aware was up to. We'd like to think that we've made up for our slow start... and are pushing forward, getting all the guests who come and go through Ratu Kini Backpacker & Dive resort to sign the petition. MORE
