Join us for fun diving, clean ups and courses. All our professional courses come with a project aware certification!

Rich Coast Diving is working hard in Playas del Coco to prevent shark finning. We try to teach the local community that the ocean is there future, we go to local schools and we work with a local artist Carlos Hiller, who does a wonderful job on displaying the sharks. The area is famous for bull sharks and we try everything to keep it that way. There is no shark feeding.

Saving the Sharks

We finished our festival See our Sea and it was a big success, we raised enough money for Mision Tiburon to buy more tags for the bull sharks. With the organization: See our Sea" we would like to continue to spread awareness tot he people. Our next project is a bullitin board on the boardwalk by the beach to show people what is happening to the ocean.

SEE OUR SEA

March 1 to 4 2012 we are organizing a festival to safe the SHARKS!!

Together with mision Tiburon and Carlos Hiller, Rich Coast Diving is trying to raise money to tag sharks and help them survive attacks form humans

We are going to the local schools to teach them the importance of the sharks, there will be lectures and entertainment.

Live music every night, bbq and more.

Help us out join the fest and help safe the sharks!

Happy New Year

First of all Rich Coast Diving likes to wish all the divers a happy new year! So what is new for 2012? We would like to announce that we are going 100% AWARE, so all our students will be certified with an Aware logo on their card. Part of their course fee will be donated to project Aware and this way we hope to get a small step closer to cleaner oceans and less Shark Finning!

Rich Coast Diving receives the PADI GREEN STAR AWARD

We're pleased to announce that Rich Coast Diving has received the PADI Green Star award this month. The Green Star Award is a project from Project Aware to make us divers more consious about our environment. In order to receive this, Project Aware requires dive centers to keep track of their use of energy and water in their facility. But also the use of online certifications. Just in sentence "We have to go GREEN" Join Rich Coast Diving and lets go Green together!

October, month of the Sharks

Costa Rica gets some bad publicity about shark finning and every time we try and do something about it. As October being month of the shark we have one of our interns do a research project to find out as much info he can about the income of tourism due to our big shark population. Once all dive centers have answered his questions we will represent this to Pretoma (our local ocean guards) to present it to the Government. Hope this helps :)

Shark Water

After watching the movie Shark Water, we knew we had to do something to educate the local people of Costa Rica. Make them aware that shark finning is not cool!

World Ocean Day 2011

Playas del Coco is a community with many nationalities and cultures, but it is always very easy to find volunteers for a good cause. Like this weekend when a group of people organized a weekend full of fun and ocean awareness. On Friday night Carlos Hiller (a local artist) tried to explain the importance of sharks to the local kids and to mission tiburon was very active in this cause as well.
