Wow! I can't believe today is the second to last day - only one more day to go. I have to admit that the House Reef is definitely looking better since I started my pledge and so I'm feeling quite proud about that! Today I went out and took two clean up bags with and it would appear that flip flops are back! I picked up 3 flip flops plus a cut-down Wellington boot, 8 plastic bottles, 3 small glass bottles, 1 piece of rope, 3 caps, 4 aluminum drinks cans, 15 food pots and 4 food wrappers.

Today is my day off work and I was hoping to spend the morning out fun diving and cleaning up but as it's peak season all of our boats were full this morning so no space for me. I thought I might be able to get on one of our small speed boats this afternoon for a quick dive to the House Reef but a broken compressor means all of the tanks are needed so no diving for me today!! Well, what does a girl do on a day off when she can't dive......? Easy - Clean the beach!!!

Yesterday was day 12 of my pledge and I headed out to Manta Point on the South of Nusa Penida. There was a lot of plankton accumulating in one of the bays on the surface and of course if the plankton is accumulating, sadly, so is the trash. It was not difficult to fill my two clean up bags - I wish I had been able to collect more.

Yesterday was day 10 of my pledge and I was back on the House Reef doing a navigation dive with Advanced Open Water students so whilst they were trying to pick there way through the corals and find the way back to the boat I picked up trash behind them - and I did pretty well: 13 plastic bottles, 9 food containers, 1 metal beverage can, 3 plastic bags and a broken snorkel holder. I also got a bit of a surprise when I found a crocodile fish hiding behind one of the bottles! :-)
