As dive professionals of Sea Hounds, we specialize in education and adventure by providing opportunities for people to experience activities, to explore exciting locations, to own and master new equipment, and to enjoy nature. We influence both divers and dive professionals through our PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Center and promote eco-tourism through our Travel Agency licensed by the Singapore Tourism Board.

It is our priority to raise awareness and appreciation of the environment and to promote marine conservation through our actions and examples. We have done so as a previous Project AWARE Go ECO Operator and Earth Day Regional Representative, and continue our work through Project AWARE Specialty courses and campaigns.

As we continue to improve as a team within a professional educational facility with world-class standards and service, we also want to grow as agents of an environmentally aware adventure center by including a conservation ethic in all our programs and travels. We observe, explore and conserve through our PADI National Geographic Dive Center.

A Giant Waste

It was a 55 minute dive busy with animal encounters from Broadclub Cuttlefish at 22m just 3 minutes into the dive, to Harlequin Ghost Pipefish, Hawksbill Sea Turtle, and finally to the usual suspects as we ended the dive at 5m over a sea grass bed; so we thought.

As we rounded up the divers after safety stop, an unusual figure was spotted laying on the sea grass at 4m. In my mind, I was hoping it wasn't what I thought it was.

Conservation through Art

In their second year of supporting a challenge for a special group of kids, Sea Hounds instructors successfully completed a 3 month long program to train Junior PADI National Geographic Open Water Divers not just to dive but to understand and protect the marine environment.

The kids did very well in the waters of Manado, and summarized their experience with an underwater drawing of the marine animal they loved best! The program allowed for each individual to pay special attention to details of the animal when they encountered it and its behaviour.

Sea Hounds wins Singapore Environmental Council Award

Sea Hounds, PADI 5 Star IDC Centre, National Geographic Dive Centre and Project AWARE supportrer was recently honoured as the recipient of the Singapore Environmental Council Achievement Awards (Service Category).

The award recognizes the consistency with which Sea Hounds has followed international standards and leveraged on their experience and capabilities to increasingly influence the community, divers and fellow dive centres in Singapore.
