It's been a whirlwind adventure in Thailand with Sarah Kench of Scuba Cat in Phuket.

First she had me sitting in on the IE's. Little did she know that I've already done my Instructor Examinations so I breezed it! I was glad to see my new mates did well too.

I have arrived in Bali after being squeezed into a small container. My new friends at Blue Season Bali gave me and my fins a good scrub and I relaxed on the beautiful Bali beaches.

Next day things changed and Rob and the gang had me setting up a new CoralWatch site setup in Padang Bai with Natalie and Niels. The site looked good and thanks to all my previous training I think I was able to show them a thing or two.

I HAVE BEEN VISITING THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL PARK IN BAIA WHICH IS LOCATED ONLY A FEW MINUTES AWAY FROM VERTIGO DIVE WORLDWIDE. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I SAW THE STATUE OF THE IMPERATORE CLAUDIO AND CHECKED OUT AN UNDERWATER ROMAN ROAD. YOU MUST COME HERE TO SEE THIS. TOUCHING A BIT OF HISTORY WAS SO UNBELIEVABLE.

One of the most bizarre things we found underwater in Sharm el Sheikh on January 23rd were these false teeth (click on the picture to enlarge the image)  Different sharks have different shaped teeth and it all depends on what they are eating.  They are usually in rows that move forward like a conveyor belt, every couple of weeks.

Did you know that last year Project AWARE volunteers collected 117,256kg of trash - which is about the weight of 1,114 fully grown hammerheads like Finn and quite a few more sets of false teeth!
