Thanks to the Thai Government and The Royal Thai Navy, Koh Tao has recently received a  new wreck - The H.T.M.S. Sattakut 742 was placed just south of Hin Pee Wee and White Rock on the west coast of Koh Tao.  Not only is it an exciting and fun new dive site, but also serves as an artificial reef and alternative dive site.  This promotes new coral growth and fish nurseries while relieving some pressure from our more popular dive sites.

After our monthly underwater clean-up in April we were rewarded with Coral Health Check Cards and mesh bags from Project Aware.  Everyone was thrilled at the token of appreciation and for being recognized for hard work.  Ever since we have been regularly taking them along on fun dives so we can keep track of the health of our reefs and to pick up stray trash.  Thank you again Project Aware. 

In honor of our beautiful island home, this year the Save Koh Tao festival was kicked off with a clean-up dive.  It was raining and many of our divers had to prepare for their dance performance at the festival that night, but they didn't let that stop them from pitching in.  Just as they surfaced the boat was visited by a newly released baby turtle! He had only been in the ocean for a few hours and we were happy to have cleaned it up for him!
