Originally from Alabama, I moved to Florida to attend the University of Tampa and graduated with a degree in Marketing. Shortly thereafter, I took a leap of faith and relocated to the U.S. Virgin Islands where I worked as a marketing executive in the luxury retail industry for 5 years. I launched a blog called the Coconut Wire and work as a marketing and social media development consultant.

Turtles live on every continent except Antarctica.

I recently sailed from Compass Point to Little Buck Island, located about 2 miles South of St. Thomas. While my friends stayed on the boat and listened to reggae vibes, I decided to grab my snorkel gear and swim out in search of marine life. Due west of the sailboat, I found myself surrounded by 6 of these incredibly peaceful and historic creatures. This is what I call an adventure - free diving with endangered green sea turtles.
