We are delighted to finally receive over a hundred juvenile giant clams to plant on our local reefs.

The juvenile clams made the long journey from Makogai Island Scientific Research Station, the other side of Fiji, and were accompanied by Mamanuca Environmental Society representatives Emosi and Matereti.

Once at Tokoriki the clams were placed in their new home: Tokoriki Wall and our Giant Clam Regeneration Project Site.

Last weekend was our 'Dive Against Debris' weekend.  It didn't go quite as we planned due to a death in one of our staff's family.  We had intended to do a 'kid friendly' clean up of Monuriki Island, but have postponed this event until early November.

We did however schedule instead, a clean up of Monu Island.  Tokoriki uses this island for it's honeymoon picnics.  John and Dovi, two staff members, did an excellent job over two mornings, of collecting 11 bags of rubbish! 

There was great excitement last Monday when Tokoriki guests stumbled apon two humpback whales and an impressive pod of spinner dolphins.  A week or so earlier, we had been hearing whale song underwater on our dives, so it was only fitting that eventually we'd be rewarded with an actual sightings.  This sighting was recorded as part of Dive Tropex Tokoriki's commitment to a Fiji wide Cetacean Watch.
