Passionate since childhood about Earth's waters: oceans, rivers, lakes, streams, brooks, seas, etc. Also am concerned about human impact upon them - silt, pollution, dams, destruction of the coral reefs, over-fishing, etc.

PADI certified diver Advanced Open Water & Underwater Naturalist since 1994. Have always picked up trash, once freeing a crab that had become trapped inside a ziplock-type bag filled with water. Boy was it crabby - snapping at me while doing the backwards crab walk. It was a joy to free him; have seen birds, fishes, seals and other wildlife that have been hampered in some way by human trash.
