I've been a diver since 1990, when a friend said "we should take scuba." Considering that I live in a land-locked desert, this was a bit odd. Little did I know where that would lead. I'm currently a PADI Course Director, EFR Instructor Trainer and DAN Instructor Trainer. Since becoming a professional diver, the 70% of the world covered in water has become my office and I don't like a trashed office. I've organized several cleanups over the years (the first pulled 1,380 pounds of debris out of a local pond). As a PADI Course Director, I spend a good amount of time during Instructor Development Courses talking about Project AWARE and protecting the aquatic environment.
I've always enjoyed diving with sharks (small or large). With the new Shark Conservation Specialty, I'm hoping I can influence more divers to be shark advocates.
