Action Highlights

A bit of info on the picture of the torpedo warhead found by myself and Dave Mallard in Nov 2014. It contained 280kg of explosive and was situated at 4.6m deep. It has now been removed from the water by the Maltese Bomb Squad and been cleaned up and made safe. It is now proudly on display at their headquarters in Mosta. Looking forward to tomorrow when we return to look for some missing components of this warhead and also complete a Dive Against Debris dive in the area at the same time! More pics to follow!!

On the first day, 10-OCT-2015, team A went to Bayside Bay and Whisky Bay. Bad weather and low visibility made us unable to clean up the fishing nets in water deeper than 8 meters. However, we still collected 41.8kg debris including bottles, tin cans and a scuba tank with 1st stage.

So, we have just completed our Dive Against Debris in the upper reaches of the Waikato River between Cheery Island and Reids Farm in Taupo. This has to be one of the most beautiful areas of New Zealand with the town wrapped around  the northern part of the spectacular Lake Taupo and the snow covered mountains creating a great backdrop at the southern end.
