Greenwichdiving organises beach and sea cleaning at La Barreta beach (Altea) and raises funds for Project Aware (Conservation Society)
On Saturday April 12, 2014, Greenwichdiving - Diving Center located in the Puerto Deportivo Luis Campomanes (Altea), organized in conjunction with the conservation organisation Project Aware, beach and sea cleaning at La Barreta beach (Altea). The event was a resounding success and Greenwichdiving would like to thank all participants for all their efforts made during the afternoon.
The event consisted of three cleaning teams, a first group working on the seashore, a second group of divers underwater and a third group of friends on Stand up Padel (SUP) boards were organised to support from the surface. We collected many bottles, plastics, cigarette ends and tin cans and filled many bags full of litter. We even retrieved laptop computer via our divers!
Year after year Greenwichdiving are very proud of the results obtained during theses events, which would not be possible without the support shown by our divers, friends and volunteers who selflessly come to help us and work hard to help us achieve a cleaner and healthier environment for all.
Project AWARE Foundation is a growing movement of scuba divers and volunteers who aim to protect our ocean and beaches throughout the world. Divers have a truly special relationship with the ocean and sea life, and can play a key role in its protection.
Greenwichdiving has become a benchmark for many divers looking for quality, safety and fun in a fantastic environment: Offering courses and dives every day of the year we will be continuing to collaborate with local authorities in support of cleaning days both at sea and on our local beaches.
