Writing a letter is often a good way to tell people about your concerns and ideas for protecting the environment.

This is your final AWARE Kids mission!

1. Use the samples below to write a letter to a local or national government/political official. You can research their contact information online. Explain your concerns about one environmental issue relating to the underwater environment. It could be an issue discussed in this book or another issue you’ve learned about. In your letter, suggest things we can do to solve this problem. You can also ask what your officials are currently doing to work towards underwater conservation.

2. Mail or email one copy of the letter to the official and one copy to Project AWARE. Once your mission is complete, you will receive your AWARE Kids Speaking Out award!
