Together, we're battling back against ocean trash and showing the world what's found beneath the waves. Explore the map to find the types and amounts of debris items divers are reporting from more than 60 countries and help make change.
Did a great dive at the Blowhole Sat 11 Apr 15 with 5 other instructors from Dive Oahu. Picked 20#s of debris out of the ocean. Mostly fishing gear, but the debris included parts of a lawn chair, the top to a kettle grill, and an Asian soup spoon. Easy to organize, fun to do, and it makes a difference. Had lots of interest from the tourists coming to see the Blowhole. They were "shocked" to see six divers coming out of the surf with mesh bags, a chair frame, and a grill top!
On February 2nd, Rainbow Reef splashed just north of Molasses Reef to see what kind of junk/treasure we could find. We had 14 divers combing over the area between Sand Island and Molasses Reef. The divers stayed down for over an hour and we managed to bring up well over 200 pounds of marine debris! Our most useful find was a brand new Atomic titanium knife.
