Dive Friends Bonaire has been hosting our world famous quarterly underwater clean-up for over 10 years. This past Saturday, July 9, 2016 we had a grand total of 121 volunteers!! In addition, we had on-land support teams of the Dive Friends Bonaire crew to help divers in and out of the water and our non-diving team to sort and count the garbage!

Blue Ocean Club ~ 2016 Dive Against Debris™

On Sunday 29 May 2016, Blue Ocean Club launched the Hong Kong diving season with a “Dive Against Debris” at Bluff Island near Sai Kung, Hong Kong with 32 divers taking part.

On the 1st of July 2016 we completed our first Dive Against Debris event on our house reef, Anchor Bay. Our intention was to remove some of the cyclone damage debris from the reef as it is our primery site for running Discover Scuba Dives and dive refreshers.

This Sunday 19 June 2016 morning was perfect for diving, regardless of the meteorologists predicting 70% chance of rain. At the pre-dive batbeque, tasty sausages and bacon were quite popular with divers of all certification levels, from OW to Perth Scuba’s new Instructor Candidates now preparing for their exams next week.

More than 200 TEAM Stoked On Salt (SOS) OCEAN CLEAN UP volunteers gathered at Anglin's Fishing Pier in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea to participate in the 2nd Annual SOS Earth Day Clean Up. Volunteers collected debris underwater and on the shoreline weighing over 400 lbs !

Our team of 10 volunteer divers completed our seventeenth annual underwater cleanup today and it was great fun!  Over the years we have been very pleased to find less and less trash in Little Pond so we must be doing something right!!  I look forward to our next cleanup and as the debris decreases we may need to find a different area to start cleaning up!  Many thanks to our volunteer divers who make all the difference in cleaning up a small part of Mother Earth!!!

Big Blue has another great DAD today bring up 377kg of rubbish. Thanks to our 12 volunteer divers who dived along the seafront wall of Porrt Vila. We made our little piece of ocean a little cleaner just in time for World Environment Day tomorrow on 5th June.

With help from our friends at PADI EMEA, the Project AWARE team in our UK office is joining the global Finathon® fundraising challenge this World Oceans Day, June 8, to have fun and raise funds and awareness for the plight of our oceans.
