Clean up the Gulf’ is a community based environmental initiative that aims to inspire and empower individuals and communities from the Gulf region to clean up and conserve the environment.

Our aspiration is to spread the knowledge about the importance of plastics and to show our commitment (as an industry) towards the environment. Moreover, to make this initiative an annual event; making it one of the largest community-based environmental campaigns in the GCC.

This campaign brings together businesses, community groups, schools, governments and individuals in an activity that will positively impact the local environment.

Our Objectives are:

  1. To show by example the Plastics Industry’s belief in responsible disposal of waste
  2. To draw attention to the behavioral issue of littering
  3. To show that Plastics are too valuable to be thrown away; it should be reused, recycled and ultimately its energy content should be recovered.

We will be doing this through a cleanup activity that will take place in February 27, 2013 in three different countries - UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait all in one day.
