Initial survey for starting an on-going monitoring project on coral disease rates surrounding floating pontoons in Bali.

Three floating pontoons used by day-trip tourists are located around Nusa Lembongan and Penida. We will be looking at rates of coral disease on the reefs surrounding these pontoons.

Scientists at Blue Corner Dive will be collaborating with specials from James Cook University, Cornell University, and NOAA on this local monitoring project -- which will be part of a larger study to see the effects of mass tourism on coral reef health.
