Reef CleanUps!!

Pura Vida Divers needs your help celebrating Earth Day on Saturday April 21st, 2012 by targeting underwater and shoreline debris in your local area. Sponsored by Project AWARE Foundation and Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, we coordinate underwater clean up events and urge divers and volunteers to jump in their wetsuits, pull on their gloves and make a splash for trash!

“Project AWARE is pleased to support Pura Vida Divers.  Divers are the guardians of our underwater environments – they often see first hand the effects of marine debris on our delicate ecosystem.  It’s a fantastic example of how people can work together to take action.” said Jenny Miller Garmendia, Director of Project AWARE Foundation.

It’s not too late to get involved.  If you’re interested in participating, please contact us for information on our offshore reef clean-ups aboard Sirena on Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd. All debri will be categorized, logged on to data cards and reported to Project AWARE and the Ocean Conservancy.  And you don’t have to be a diver to get involved.  Bring your friends and family along for the Phil Foster Park clean-up and help make clean waters a reality.  Check-in time for the Phil Foster Park Cleanup is 7:30am for the divers, and 8am for the shoreline volunteers.

As Earth's growing population consumes more disposable goods, the items we discard, even thousands of miles inland, are choking our ocean planet. Join us in the battle against marine debris and Dive Against Debris. Your local actions contribute to a clean, healthy future for the ocean.  Learn more about the Ugly Journey of Trash.

Contact Us Today to sign up for one of these events!!!  Make a Splash for Trash this Earth Day!

The Great American Cleanup, a project of Keep America Beautiful, is coordinated locally by Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful Inc. and the Solid Waste Authority.
