My Summary

I first started diving in 1996 when I did an intro dive holidaying aboard a cruise ship, since then I have reached Padi rescue level and have dived mainly in the Asia Pacific region. I have been active to protect the aggregation sites of grey nurse sharks in NSW, the Great Barrier Reef and the establishment of the Coral Sea Marine Park. Having been apart of many submissions to both state and federal government and regularly email my member of paliament and the environment minister Tony Burke on matters I care about.

I think as concerned divers around the world we should all be establishing close relationships with members of government and actively participate when submissions are called for about Ocean matters, especially sharks.

I have listed my location as Parramatta NSW but spend a lot of time in Cairns diving our Great Barrier Reef and in the Coral Sea.  Therefore I am very concerned about the pressures on the reef with the unpresented construction of ports for the shipment of coal and gas through the reef. And also over fishing of sharks within the Great Barrier Reef marine park through the East Coast Inshore Fin Fish Fishery. This is mostly an inshore fishery but sharks are caught mostly north of Mackay and out to sea well within the marine park right up to the top of Torres Strait. I have been lobbying to have sharks excluded from this fishery at the very least within the marine park.

My website is and I like sharing my underwater pictures of my diving adventures and have some of these on my website under blogs/pictures
