- My Summary
I started my diving career by going to the Maldives to complete my PADI Open Water Certification in March 2002. That was it, after the first few breaths underwater I was hooked. I came back to the UK and found a PADI Five star IDC that I liked in the UK called Freya Diving where I signed up for courses up to Assistant Instructor. By September 2003 I was enrolled in my Instructor Development Course and passed my IE that same month with Platinum Course Director Gary Mawsdon.
I stayed working as an Instructor with Freya Diving until around 2007. During that time I continued to progress my career as an Instructor and once again turned to Gary to complete my staff Instructor traiing in 2005.
I then moved to work for Reefers and Wreckers as their lead instructor. This was a PADI 5 Star centre at the time and I was instrumental in changing this to a 5 Star IDC.
In March 2011 I decided to leave behind the cold water of the UK to live and work in the beautiful divers paradise of Bonaire at Great Adventures Bonaire based at Harbour Village Beach Club. Again this was a successful PADI 5 star resort and once again I have been instrumental in changing this to a PADI 5 Star IDC.
I am currently a PADI Master Instructor and I am working on projects to help the conservation of the oceans. I am involved with the Sea Turtle Conservation Bonaire and the dive centre has joined the Coral Restoration project on Bonaire where we have installed artificial coral trees to grow stag horn and elk horn corals for transplantation to the shallow coastal waters of Bonaire.
I am also involved in the Teens4Oceans program headed from Colorado where teenagers use underwater cameras and sensor equipment to research the ocean environment.
So in short I am a turtle lover coral tree hugger that loves to dive and empower others to take part, do their part and enjoy themselves at the same time.
