My Summary

I am a very passionate scuba diver and PADI Master Instructor. Ever since I fell in love with the ocean, I am looking for better ways to support ocean conservation and to respect and treasure the marine environment.

Diversity is what keeps me diving and wanting to see more - whether it be gently drifting alongside a beautiful wall, a thrilling dive with sharks, snorkelling with whale sharks, heading to a WWII wreck, technical diving or an extra long dive in the local seagrass area with ghostpipe fishes, flamboyant cuttlefish, seaturtles - every single time I am loving it !!

It does fill me with sadness however what we are doing to this beautiful environment. There is so much trash on or near the beaches and even underwater, a lot of local shark dive sites are deserted and corals are struggling to survive. As divers, we are the ambassadors of the ocean - and it is our responsibility to help track the conditions, show the destruction and the rebuild efforts, speak for the sharks and ray species that need protection, help children understand the importance of the ocean and marine creatures, in short: make the world AWARE.

Hence I am strongly supporting the Project AWARE efforts. Everyone can do a little bit to preserve this beautiful environment. I am picking up trash on every dive - so can you. Organise or join a Dive Against Debris and keep informed about topics in your local area.

I also feel very strongly about quality dive education and developing good diving habits and attitude towards the environment and fellow divers. The instructor development process is a great opportunity for me to influence new instructors to treasure and preserve the environment and increase the awareness of their own divers in the future. Excellent buoyancy, role model diving skills and behaviour above as well as below the surface seem basic expectations for a new instructor. Building in fun in teaching and ensuring the passion never dies, that we don't become complacent and indifferent to the world around us. I just love my job and my office... the OCEAN !  <'(((<<
