Project AWARE News

The ocean provides food, regulates our climate, gives us oxygen and acts as our planet's life support system - with every breath, we’re connected to the ocean. To kick off the Holiday season, we pause to give thanks to all our volunteer divers who protect the ocean planet one dive at a time.

This year, on December 3rd, we invite you to celebrate the ocean on #GivingTuesday, a first of its kind global call to action to celebrate the act of giving. By making this special day a day to give back to the ocean, your support will help secure protections for the world’s most vulnerable sharks and rays and protect ocean wildlife from the onslaught of marine debris.

Together we're tackling some of the ocean's toughest challenges in our favourite dive sites, in our communities, and at the highest levels of government. Ocean protection starts with you and our actions make a difference. Give today and join us in giving thanks to the ocean.

How to participate in #GivingTuesday? Follow these simple actions:

  1. Give – all donations, large or small, are critical to our next ocean victory
  2. Check out our brand NEW video "Ocean Protection Starts with You" and find out why your donation is a great investment for our ocean future
  3. Show your support of #GivingTuesday by taking a picture, tagging it #unselfie, #GivingTuesday and #projectaware, and sharing on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram until December 4!

#GivingTuesday UnselfieYour gift for the ocean will be doubled by PADI up to $10,000 until December 31st. Make a gift today for our critical marine conservation efforts and share the giving spirit on social media.

Celebrate by making #GivingTuesday the day the world gives back to the ocean!

And don't forget to share your #unselfie photos and this message on Twitter:
