Give a Gift to the Ocean this #Giving Tuesday

Project AWARE News

The ocean has always held so much for me. Even when I was a little girl, watching the surf roll in, exploring rock pools or splashing in the waves, the ocean mesmerized me.

Even now when I stand at our local headland I feel overwhelmed by its beauty, its vastness and its incredible strength. It has helped me gain perspective in times of trouble and it’s allowed me to explore a whole new world which I’m privileged enough to help protect every time I go to work.

That's why this #GivingTuesday on 2nd December I will give a gift back to the ocean by making a donation to protect it through Project AWARE.

#GivingTuesday is an opportunity for anyone in the world to reflect and give back. With the holiday season soon upon us it brings people together for a common purpose:  to celebrate generosity and give thanks.

And you can celebrate with us! Thanks to YOU, the global dive community and our partners we’re celebrating incredible victories for the ocean in 2014.  From historic wins for sharks and rays to saving marine life from the scourge of underwater debris, you’ve been with us on the front lines.

Together we've accomplished a lot, but we've got a long way to go to eliminate marine debris and end the overexploitation of sharks and rays. And we can't do it without YOU.

Join us by helping kick off a season of giving on Giving Tuesday.

For every donation over $150 we’ll give you a limited edition Fourth Element tee to say thank you. In addition, to help your gift go even further, PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) will match your donation – dollar for dollar – up to the total value of $25,000.

Thanks to your support we’ve worked hard in 2014 to achieve some real milestones for our ocean. You can help ensure we hit the ground running in 2015, step up our work to protect sharks and combat marine debris - and give back to the ocean we all love so much.
