Sharky Leads the Charge at The Scuba Shop Finathon

Community Actions

Scott Taylor, a proud 100% AWARE partner, led the charge for a fun filled Finathon together with The Scuba Team and the Aqua-Tots Swim School in Mesa, Arizona, USA.  On Saturday, 15 March, swimmers of all ages had Sharky the mascot from SeaLife Aquariums cheer them on as they swam to fundraise for sharks.

The entertainment didn’t stop there. Games, aquatic themed face painting and a bounce house brought the crowds in, raising buzz and magnifying of the importance of shark protection.

“The clock is ticking against sharks, they need our help now,” explains Scott Taylor as to why the team got involved.

The team raised more than just an appreciation for marine life, together they raised over $2,300 in less than two months.

Scott expresses his gratitude by saying, “I want to personally thank everyone who helped to make the event a success; I work with a great team at The Scuba Shop and look forward to upcoming events with them all.”
